A Soft Answer

I woke this morning feeling frustrated and annoyed...   I was humbled as I saw the beauty God had created for me at 5:15 this morning.  The clouds were so soft and the early morning so peaceful, calm, and beautiful.  I was once again reminded of how quickly I stray from what I KNOW.    I know God wants us to be happy and that we choose are blessed with the opportunity to choose happiness or sadness.  God has made a way for us to find happiness, despite our circumstances.

As I am typing this, I'm reminded of Corrie Ten Boom's book "The Hiding Place". When she and her sister are at a concentration camp, her sister Betsy reminded her to, “Give thanks in all circumstances,” not only in pleasant circumstances. She wanted Corrie to give thanks for everything that was part of the place where God had put them. So she stood there in the filth with her sister, and they gave thanks for the fleas."

I prayed and read a bit in the beginning of the Book of Mormon, another Testament of Christ.  As I did so, I tried to figure out what gave me feelings of frustration.  I know that the Devil's goal is to cause strife and anger.   As I read, I was able to find the answers and feel the sweet feeling of God's love return as the Holy Spirit again filled my heart.

I then looked online for a few articles that gave me more strength...

-"A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger" (Proverbs 15:1)
-Quiet talk is the language of love. It is the language of peace. It is the language of God. It is when we raise our voices that tiny mole hills of difference become mountains of conflict
-...the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice" (1 Kings 19:11-12). The voice of heaven is a still small voice. The voice of peace in the home is a quiet voice.
-"He [or she] that is slow to anger is better than the mighty" (Proverbs 16:32). Cultivate the art of the soft answer. It will bless your homes, it will bless your lives, it will bless your companionships, it will bless your children.

I am so blessed to know and be able to talk to God and feel his peace.
I pray each of you will feel God's peace today and be strengthened by it!!!
