Our 2013 garden!
Here Momma!! Hope you enjoy the pictures of our garden! It's so fun to see the different stages of plants and all the different varieties! Thanks for instilling the love of gardening in me when we were little kids and got to do the 1 cent packet of seeds! It's kinda funny how I don't look at weeding as such a pain as when I was little :)

Fun Gardening ideas
I found some cool ideas from Grow Food Not Lawn's pictures on facebook
Watering 'Repurposed'
The hose attachment fits perfectly with 2 liter pop bottles!
How fun of an herb garden would this be? :)
The perfect solution if you only have minimal floor space :)

Chicken grazing beds!
I thought this was so amazing. I've been trying to think of a way for my chickens to still eat some greens if I need to keep them enclosed while my garden is growing and this should do the trick!!!
It'll also cut down on the feed bill!
They're like raised bed, chicken feed, growing boxes also known as Grazing Beds
Click here for a full explanation and building plans from Vern Nelson!

Thanks for the picture Preppingdays!

The Garden I dream of!
Have you ever realized that your gardening dreams are bigger than your weeding realities?
This was the first draft of my California Garden.... Each small 'blue lined' square = 1 sq. ft.
Then it got drafted again... Yep, it's smaller!
Each square below = 4x4 ft. and there is a 3-foot walk way between the top and bottom row.
I've also included my rotation guide. We'll see if it works!

Our Orchard!!!
What do you do after you get 3.3 inches of rain in 36 hours? Wait for the sun to come out, dig holes and plant an orchard!
We planted.....
1-Seckel Pear
1- Craig's Crimpson Cherry
1 Empire Apple
1- Braeburn Apple
1- (4 in 1) July Elberta Peach, Independence Nectarine, Late Santa Rosa Plum, and Blenheim Apricot
2- Blueberry (O'Neal, Blueray)
1- Ruby Seedless Grape
10- Heritage Red Raspberries
Yeah, We're so excited! I got the holes dug while my Soldier worked this weekend. Then we got our plants from "Bald Mountain Nursery". We then planted them, finishing with a flashlight about 6:30!
I hope we are able to eat lots of fruit before we move in a few years :) I can't wait to eat fresh fruit. Oh wait, I don't have to wait. Did you know that Lemons, Oranges, and Grapefruit grow year round? My friend Lyn and I were able to pick some, from a lady who has a sheep ranch a few miles from here. Delicious!!!! Terry, Thanks for your generosity!!!
I'm thankful that God has blessed us with a variety to choose from! In primary today, I held up a bag of lemons and a bag with a variety of fruits and veggies in it. Then I asked the kids, "If your mom asked you to choose one of these bags to eat all week, which would you choose?" One kids picked the lemons... 'cause they're sweet and juicy'. The rest picked the bag with a variety inside. I can't imagine the world without all the wonderful plants and things to eat! God is great! I'm thankful that Heavenly Father and Jesus created the earth as a place where I can learn to choose the right and that we have the Holy Ghost to help guide us! I hope that God is pleased with us as we take care of our new orchard and continue to improve the land here.

Basket of Generosity
Y'all, I have some AWESOME neighbors!! I love living in the country! My neighbor has a lemon tree, apple trees, and a cool garden! She spoiled me with this basket of delight! Then she brought over a couple of quince which smell delicious!
I love living in northern California and can't wait to plant a garden and trees of my own next year!!!!
