Book of Mormon Minute - page xii, A Brief explanation about The Book of Mormon

I'm going to focus on one verse or phrase from The Book of Mormon each day with my kids at our family morning prayer.  Find the list  here...

page xii,  A Brief explanation about The Book of Mormon

 paragraph 5, line  6

"Many quotations from these plates, citing Isaiah and other biblical and NONBIBLICAL prophets, appear in The Book of Mormon"

I am so blessed to know that God has many prophets!  A dear friend, Malisa, helped me understand this when my husband was doing his military training in Alabama.  There are prophets on earth today that do talk with God and are able to share with us the wisdom they receive, just like the many prophets we read about in scriptures.

We do not just have to take their word for it and blindly believe though. In James 1:5, we have been guided to ask God and learn for ourselves if something is true. As you choose to learn truth and believe that God will give you an answer, you will feel peace and know what is truth.  God is a God of truth and cannot lie!

First, find a private place to pray. In faith, kneel and humbly tell God your thoughts and ask your Father in Heaven if that specific thing is a truth from Him.

Second, move forward in faith. Believing (Alma 32:27), hoping for, and expecting the answer to come in God's time. Ponder, read His word and when you receive your answer, write it down so you can read it when doubts try to creep back in.

?    What are some things you've been wondering about, yet haven't got the answer to?

!    In the evening, share with each other.. what truths or thoughts you've received throughtout the day as you've prayed, studied, and pondered.

Pray   Tell God about your experiences and thank Him for... the opportunity to learn for yourself if specific things are true and for His guidance in the big and little things in our lives.

Hugs,

Sheree
