Howdy! I have chosen one verse or phrase from each page of the Book of Mormon to share with my family daily. See the list here...

Alma
32:41 But
if ye will nourish the word, yea, nourish the tree as it beginneth
to grow, by your faith with great diligence, and with patience,
looking forward to the fruit thereof, it shall take root; and
behold it shall be a tree springing
up unto
everlasting life.
What
would God have us nourish? (a child, a relationship, an
opportunity, our testimony) When someone believes in us, it helps
us do things we couldn’t do on our own.
...Father,
thanks for believing in us and helping us to improve. Thanks for
the trials that allow us to learn and develop a stronger testimony
of Thee and Jesus.

Alma
33:11 And
thou didst hear me because of mine afflictions and my sincerity;
and it is because of thy Son that thou hast been thus merciful
unto me, therefore I will cry unto thee in all mine afflictions,
for in thee is my joy; for thou hast turned thy judgments away
from me, because of
thy Son.
Our trials can help us be more
sincere in our communication with God. When we discover that true
joy comes in God’s paths, we are more eager to obey Him and
desire his paths. ...Father, please guide me
to thy paths today and use me as a tool to help others find thy
peace. When I falter, please send others to strengthen me.

Alma
34:4 Yea,
even that ye would have so much faith as even to plant the
word in your hearts, that ye may try the experiment of its
goodness.
If you’re struggling,
experiment on a principle of God and see if they bring goodness.
Even a desire to try is a good start. ...Father in Heaven, Thank
you for the many opportunities we’ve had to feel of your love
and peace and for all things which help us know you are real and
know us and love us.
294
Alma
34:15 And
thus he shall bring salvation to
all those who shall believe on his name; this being the intent of
this last sacrifice, to bring about the bowels of mercy, which
overpowereth justice, and bringeth about means unto men that they
may have faith unto repentance.
Christ’s mercy is stronger
than justice. It allows us to repent. May we strive to use mercy
when we can to bless others. ...Father, we thank thee
for the mercy thou gives us through thy son, Jesus. May we look
for and recognize thy tender mercies in our lives today.
295
Alma
34:31 Yea,
I would that ye would come forth and harden not
your hearts any longer; for behold, now is the time and the day of
your salvation;
and therefore, if ye will repent and harden not
your hearts, immediately shall the great plan of redemption be
brought about unto you.
Immediately…
when we desire to obey God and do good instead of wrong, God does
immediately bless us, help us, and extend forgiveness. ...Father,
please guide me today to know what I need to repent of and who I
need to apologize and ask forgiveness of. Forgiveness is a gift.
Thank thee for that gift that you are willing to immediately and
completely give.
296
Alma
34:38 That
ye contend no
more against the Holy Ghost, but that ye receive it, and take upon
you the name of
Christ; that ye humble yourselves even to the dust, and worship God,
in whatsoever place ye may be in, in spirit and in truth; and that
ye live in thanksgiving daily,
for the many mercies and
blessings which he doth bestow upon you.
Let us put away our stubborn,
obstinate ways and strive for being grateful and merciful. All
that we have is a gift from God and an opportunity to keep
improving. ...Father, thank thee for
this day which I can keep trying to do a little better and be a
little kinder. Thanks for Jesus’ example that shows me how to do
what is hard, yet possible because of Him.
297
Alma
35:9 And
he breathed out many threatenings
against them. And now the people of Ammon did not fear their
words; therefore they did not cast them out, but they did receive
all the poor of the Zoramites that came over unto them; and they
did nourish them,
and did clothe them, and did give unto them lands for their
inheritance; and they did administer unto them according to their
wants.
… they
did not fear their words… Let us strive today to do what is
right and good, giving no regard to Satan’s threats. Let us be
merciful and be tools in God’s hands to bless. ...Father,
we pray for Thy grace, thy power and help, to do good today
without concern for worldly or Satan's threats. May we find our
strength in thee and thy promises for you cannot lie and said you
will be with us as we do right.

Alma
36:3 And
now, O my son Helaman, behold, thou art in thy youth, and
therefore, I beseech of thee that thou wilt hear my words and
learn of me; for I do know that whosoever shall put their trust in
God shall be supported in their trials,
and their troubles, and their afflictions, and shall be lifted
up at
the last day.
We will be supported by God in
our trials, troubles, and afflictions. We can be strengthened by
the examples of others who have gone before. May we learn from
history and leave a legacy that will strengthen others. ...Father, thank thee for
the Holy Spirit’s comforting and guiding power. Thanks for the
many examples of people who did tough things that were the right
thing to do. Thanks for those who wrote it down so we could know
and find strength to do our own hard things.
299
Alma
36:27 And
I have been supported under trials and troubles of every kind,
yea, and in all manner of afflictions; yea, God has delivered me
from prison, and from bonds, and from death; yea, and I do put my
trust in him, and he will still deliver me.
Trusting in God and doing
right, does not take away challenges and hard things, it might
bring more challenges so we can be examples to others. ...Father, thank thee for
the opportunities to do and be good amid challenges. We pray for
thy help to stay strong and focus on Jesus and the promises of
eternal joy for those who stay faithful.

Alma
37:7 And
the Lord God doth work by means to bring about his great and eternal purposes; and by very small means
the Lord doth confound the
wise and bringeth about the salvation of many souls.
We
are God’s very small things. If we allow ourselves to be used as
God’s tools, he can bless many and bring us peace no matter
where we are. ...Father,
please use me as a tool for good. Please help me as I strive to
strengthen my faith and testimony and to do that which is pleasing
in thy sight.
